An aluminum framed Model 21 with 20 and 28 gauge barrels has surfaced on Basspro's website.
The gun has serial # ALEX-1, I assume means Aluminum Experimental #1.
Schwing mentions an aluminum framed 28 guage with 28" barrels weighing 4# 13oz. Schwing says "Upon firing the first proof loads, the barrels ruptured".
Whether this is the same gun refurbished or another is not known but the weights are substantially different as this gun is listed at 6#'s.

There are more images at Basspro.
In any event the idea never came to fruition and the CSMC 'Baby' framed Model 21 seems to be a better idea. It's too bad Winchester never chose to make a scaled frame Model 21 for the 28 and 410.-Dick
