Howdy, boys:

Well, I was hoping to do some dove shooting with my 21 this year. I had not yet bought it when I went to some early dove shoots this recent fall.

Today is the last day of the last phase of dove season in Alabama. It is 11 degrees this morning on the front porch and not supposed to get above freezing today. Plus, I haven't seen a single dove in over a week. The wind is already moving pretty good.

Hmmmm! Maybe I'll take the 21 over to the skeet club come spring.

We had a spotty season here in SE Wisconsin. Never found any big flocks until after the season ended, then they started flocking. Go figure.
Took only one dove with the first shot from a new 16 gauge Fox from CSMC. Much lighter than the Model 16 gauge Model 21 SKEET I had but of course one was built as a target gun and one as a field gun. Would not want to shoot a round of Skeet with the Fox(5# 9oz)!
Skeet range sounds like the way to go.-Dick

Yes - I have certainly learned my (12-ga.) 21 is not a lightweight. Still, it is nearly 1lb lighter than my 12ga. Citori O/U, but heavier by just over a 1lb than my W. C. Scott, Ltd 12ga. I can carry the Scott all day on a pheasant hunt. Don't think I could the 21 - but it is fine for a dove field where I am sitting on a 5gal. "can". Also fine for a full 1/2 day quail hunt for swamp birds down around Selma, on the Alabama River.
