View Full Version : Pigeon grade 16 ga numbered pair
Anybody have any info on the Pigeon grade matched pair 16 ga's on gunbroker Serial numbers W38190 and W38191? It looks like there's nothing on the top rib and the seller said there seems to be no record. I hope this is the proper place for this post.If not,I apologize.......

There is probably no record for several reasons. One the serial no. is too high. Two, the gun was not done by any of the factory engravers. Three the "pigeon grade" pattern is executed incorrectly.
Pauline,
Serial number too high?Does that mean it was done at USRAC,or even later at Galazan,so it would really be a CSMC Model 21?Thanks-Alan

Not USRAC. There was a period of time during the years after Winchester stopped making the M21 that someone was putting out numerous fakes. By fakes I mean they upgraded Win model 21s and put serial nos. above the factory nos. so they knew they wouldn't accidentally letter as something they were not. You can use your imagination to ascertain who that was.
Bingo! I see now that the ad has changed and named the manufacturer (besides Winchester)-Thanks Pauline!

These are CSMC guns. Galazan started his 21's w/ serial # 38,000. I see lots of 38,000+ guns advertised a Winchesters...they aren't!
