I was reading a Cody letter about my Grand American that left the custom shop in 1960. The following year, the original owner returned the gun to the custom shop for some repairs as apparently the gun was used in the field. The adjustments were numerous but all were minor. The gun was repaired and sent back to the owner only to come back to custom shop less than a year later a second time for more work. Winchester performed some of the work but declined to perform some that had been requested. Apparently the owner was a pain to deal with and complained about the jewling being marred after the action had been opened and closed. Wincester performed the repairs and before the gun was returned, it was specified in the work order that all work performed was to be personally approved and reviewed by J.J. ReardonDoes anyone know who J.J. Reardon was and why would the work be reviewed and approved by him?
